We've hit a number of stumbling blocks getting to this point (notably shipping, which is not something you ever expect to lose several nights sleep worrying over until it happens and then you hate cardboard forever), but as of right now we seem to be stumble-free and just a little bit of elbow grease away from launching.
I was tempted to keep delaying and delaying in order to get more products online for the initial launch, but...well I realized it was just a highly justified procrastination tactic. So! We're doing it. Full steam ahead. We're launching with a nice handful of products and will continue to add more to the lineup.
The store will initially open for pre-orders on each item. We have a limited inventory of most things on hand now and can fill some small orders, but accepting a larger batch of pre-orders allows us to order in bulk from the factory, which keeps prices down for this round and sets up more inventory for future orders (plus lets us buy some needed equipment and tools that we're just renting and borrowing now). Pre-order items will have a longer lead time than inventory items will in the future; apologies about this, but it's the reality of a startup. Unless someone just wants to kick us a huge 0% interest cash infusion right now? Because that'll work too!
The flip side of that coin is that I will personally be handling all of our incoming orders for this round, and will be in contact with everyone who places a pre-order throughout the whole process. So how often do you get to yell at the CEO directly? ...please don't actually yell at me.
Oh! Before I forget! I'm excited to announce that several Warcry products (from our prototype run) are going to be making an appearance in a competition at Slate Crossfit this Sunday! This is going to be so much fun you guys.
